Carpe Diem, Vita Brevis: Seize the Day, Life is Short

Life is short! Everybody knows that, but we live our life as it was forever. It is not !!!

Friedrich Nietzsche (a German philosopher) proposed that we will live our life over and over again, without change; we would be trapped in the same life, forever… Can you get a picture of it? Same loves, same mistakes, same adventures, same illnesses, same everything, nothing would never change, life after life, time after time, what would do differently if you believe that is true?

But think about it in a different way, that’s the only life that you have, you will not have another chance to live again. What would you do differently? I propose that does not matter in what you believe, in one way or another, live has to be lived in the best way possible. It has to be enjoyable, pleasant, we need to be nice with others and love as much as we can, be as happy for the small things and grateful for this unique opportunity to be living this life. Enjoy it !

Carpe Diem my friends !!! Vita Brevis !!!

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

Think a little bit about it before answer …

Scientifically speaking; "Sound is vibration, transmitted to our senses through the mechanism of the ear, and recognized as sound only at our nerve centers. The falling of the tree or any other disturbance will produce vibration of the air. If there be no ears to hear, there will be no sound." Wikipedia

But that’s a philosophical question not a scientific one! George Berkeley once said “to be to be perceived” and if we agree with that not only the sound did not exist in this case but also the tree…

It can be disturbing! No sound, no tree, maybe not even the forest exist…and you and me, do we really exist?

So, if we need to be perceived to exist, a life without a meaning is not a life by definition…We have to put a meaning in our life, it is necessary to create something that worth to live for. It is necessary to make a difference for you or for somebody else, it is necessary to be perceived (in a good way of course).

My thoughts, now is your turn. What do you think?

The Mind - The creator of all things

“Abundance, therefore, depends upon a recognition of the laws of abundance, and the fact that the mind is not only the creator, but the only creator of all there is.”  Charles Haanel “Master Key System”

The mind is the creator of all things, nothing happen without the influence or idealization of the mind. It starts with the process of ideas generation and move on until the creation or realization of something. If you believe on it as I do, why we expend so few time training our mind to have good thoughts, to create good ideas, to think about good and abundance, instead of  thinking about bad things or things that will not add any value to our life. Maybe it is a trap of our neural system, to keep us in this day to day life, waking in the morning, going to work, working hard as hell, getting traffic to go home, arriving late, eating something before to go to the bed again. What time do you have to think about good things? What time do we have to create great ideas? We have to stop this circle, we have to start to create our great future, it is time to relax and think about abundance, it is time to free our minds!

The other side of the river- A Monk Story

"One day a young Buddhist on his journey home, came to the banks of a wide river. Staring hopelessly at the great obstacle in front of him, he pondered for hours on just how to cross such a wide barrier. Just as he was about to give up his pursuit to continue his journey he saw a great teacher on the other side of the river. The young Buddhist yells over to the Master, "Oh wise one, can you tell me how to get to the other side of this river"? The Master ponders for a moment looks up and down the river and yells back, "My son, you are on the other side"."
                                                                                                                                Buddhist story

Sometimes we are in the right side of the river and we keep trying to go to the other one. We need to understand what we want in our life, what type work, what type of friends, what type of relationships... it is not easy to decide, things change all the time, what seems to be the right thing to do today, can be the worst thing to do tomorrow, but thats how life is, like a river, always moving, trying to reach the sea. We can swim the river, dogde rocks, trying not to be drown, wishing to find our ocean where we will finally find our treasures.

Or maybe we can walk following the river and reach the sea without get wet...
I will ask the Master...
