The Four Noble Truths

The Four Noble Truths described by Sidarta (Budha) are:

1 – The truth about suffering (Dukkha), life means suffering, since we born, during our life, when we get old and finally when we die.

2 – The truth about the origin of suffering (Samudaya), the cause of all suffering is desire, the desire for sexual things, for pleasure, for material things, for power...

3 – The truth about the end of suffering (Nirodha), the cessation of suffering is attainable, dispassion of all the desires...

4 – The truth about the path of the cessation of suffering (Magga), a gradual path of self-improvement, which is described more detailed in the Eightfold Path (Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration)

Suffering can be part of our life, it is possible to say that it is almost impossible to born, grow up and died without not suffer during all these years. The desire can always bring suffering. It is always difficult to have a desire and not have it accomplished. You love someone and this person does not love you, suffering. You would like to buy a new car and you don’t have money for it, suffering. A person that we care a lot got sick and we cannot do anything about it, suffering. Few sample that most of us or passed through it or will pass for it but what always change is the way each of us can handle it. It is always our own choice, we can suffer or we can learn from it. We can understand that it will pass or we can keep suffering for something that already happen, we can go on or get stuck in the past.

The Four Noble Truth help us to understand that the cessation of suffering is attainable and guide us to a better understand of life.

Your future is already written!?

“Neo: But if you already know, how can I make a choice?

The Oracle: Because you didn't come here to make the choice, you've already made it. You're here to try to understand why you made it. I thought you'd have figured that out by now.” From the movie Matrix.

Your future is already written. Is it so hard to believe? When you woke up this morning your day was written and you could not change anything…Please do not get me wrong, you are the one that created it, you made the choices that end up with your day as it was.

I know that it can sound a little bit crazy but the Relativity Theory of Einstein can explain it … that past, present and future all exist simultaneously …

You can image the time as a line, past, present and future as the diagram below:

Now you can image that at this exact moment you are living your past, present and future simultaneously … based on the choices that you made…so make sure to do it wisely as your thoughts.

Be aware of your present!

"What then is time? If no one asks me, I know: if I wish to explain it to one that asked me, I know not." – St. Augustine

Let’s think a little bit about the time…the past, the present and the future…

The past is something that already happened, can be ages ago, years ago or even one second ago, it was once what we called present, I can say that I’m writing it but every moment that I type a letter, in the present, it turns to past and the next letter that I will going to type, in the future, will be present and it will be past again. It is so fast that we sometimes even notice it.

I’m sure that you already thought about it but I brought it because most of the time we are so fixed about what happened in our past or what is going to happen in our future that we do not realize that we need to be focus and more aware about the present and what we are doing with our life, now, in this exact moment. If we are able to do the right things in our present we are not going to regret it (the past) and we will be able to create something good for our future…think about it.

Ps: When I started to write it I had no idea how it was going to finish. It was my present. Now that I wrote it became my past and now is your time to make my future writing your comments and becoming my friend in facebook. What then is time?
